From the beginning of the design of this small connector, we thought about many solutions. We opened holes on the countertop, fixed the connection through the holes, connected through detachable hinges, etc. Multiple design solutions were rejected by our design team one by one. Why? Because such a design not only limits the customer's use position, but also destroys our product design concept: the choice of accessories does not affect the overall configuration and appearance of the product. After several months of design, evaluation, and 3D printing, our design team finally determined this T-shaped connector. Why did we finally choose this T-shaped connector?

This is the most concerned issue for many of our friends when using this connection buckle, the bearing capacity! Our countertops are connected by such connection buckles. The weight of the countertop panel itself and the maximum weight of the objects placed on the countertop panel will have a great relationship with the connection buckle. When we use our countertop panel, the force is mainly the vertical downward force, and the force from the side horizontal direction can be almost ignored. Then in this use environment, the advantage of the T-shaped is revealed. We also test the actual weight bearing capacity (the weight of other outdoor products with increasing weight will be placed to show it). If nothing unexpected happens, our connection buckle may be able to withstand a weight of more than 30 kilograms. And there will be no problems. Why can a small connection buckle cause the countertop panel to be crushed, but the connection buckle has no problem at all? This has a lot to do with the physical force point and force direction of the design. When the connection buckle is used vertically, the vertical force will be infinitely magnified, so the force it bears will also be greatly increased. This is very different from the hinges that are usually fixed with screws or rivets. Screws or rivets are in the 90-degree direction of the force. Long-term or heavy force will cause the screws or rivets to loosen or be damaged. This is the point of our mechanical design.


The second design point is why our product is designed with this length? Use two instead of one long one to replace two for fixing? This is determined by the ease of installation during use. If one long one replaces two short ones during use, we will find that the connection buckle and the countertop are difficult to install easily? This is because the deformation of the connection buckle that is too large during installation requires greater force, while the short one only needs a slight deformation to complete the installation.


The third important factor is the deformation factor of the connection buckle mentioned just now. To be able to successfully install it to the edge of the countertop or stove, we must complete it through the deformation of the material. Then there are two important points in the deformation process, one is the deformation of the connection buckle, and the other is the deformation of the countertop or stove. Then we all know that the countertop cannot use ordinary or even high-temperature resistant nylon materials to withstand high temperatures. We can only choose SMC materials with better tolerance, but the characteristic of SMC materials themselves is the ability to shrink, that is, it cannot deform. Then the focus can only be placed on the material used for the connecting buckle. Using elastic nylon as the connecting buckle, the material will rebound quickly after slight deformation. At the same time, it can be seen from the previous test that it has better tensile strength.
